14-16: Chocolate Nut Pudding

We really enjoyed this dessert. 14-16: Chocolate Nut Pudding is a fancy version of “cake in a coffee mug” with additional toppings. ☕

This dessert was awesome while still warm, still great while cold.

Editor’s note“If you don’t eat your meat, you can’t have any pudding, how can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat!” 🎸🇬🇧

This fudge-a-licious dessert was easy to make and tasted great.

This “pudding” is thicker and more cake like than your typical Jell-O brand pudding. That type of dessert is more accurately called a custard or a jelly depending on the thickening agent.

The dry ingredients all go into the bowl to be mixed together.

The color of the dry ingredients has taken on a chocolate-y hue and it’s time to add the melted butter.

To have one less dish to clean, I beat the egg in the same bowl the butter was melted in. I measured out the milk and vanilla and added the wet ingredients to the dry mix and stirred.

Using a spatula, spread the mixture into a well-greased baking dish.

To prepare the topping, measure the brown sugar and white sugar and cocoa into a bowl. Mix well and pour the powder on top of the pudding.

Finally, top with chocolate chips, pecan halves and pour strong coffee on top.

The coffee will absorb into the pudding and make the chocolate taste even chocolate-y. 🍫

Bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 350 degrees and serve warm!

The decorative chocolate sauce is from the melted chocolate chips in the mixture. It creates a hot fudge-like sauce in pockets on top of the pudding and the different types of chocolate all have distinct flavors. This dessert is decadent and delicious.
